I dreamed that I had to do something important. A sacrifice on my part that is the greatest I can offer, but I had to do it a certain way. There was a small group of us. A messenger of sorts came to tell me we had to do this because we couldn't escape our fate. However, we could either choose to simply die with the rest of the people in the world, or die saving them from an even graver fate.
I obviously chose to go out saving people. My greatest concern was my children. But the messenger informed me they were not involved with the cataclysmic events that were unfolding on Earth. That they were spared because they were innocents, and not to worry about them.
There was something I was chosen to do. Something far more important than living or dying. Something happened to the planes of existence. Something that only a few from this universe had the ability to stop.
Before I could stop it, I had to leave this plane. I had to die here and travel to another plane where time doesn't exist. I was scared but willing to do what was right.
The messenger told me to walk over to one of the flower pots on my front walk and pick it up. I did. As I held it against my chest, I felt the feathery tickling of a spider or something with delicate legs, crawl up my chest and the right side of my neck. I felt a small but very distinct pinch just below and behind my right ear. I brushed the creature away only to discover nothing was there.
The messenger said it was done.
I woke up gasping.

A Little Venture
I dreamed that I was walking alone, along a trail through a field. It must've been winter, as there was snow everywhere. I felt the snow crunching under my boots... Despite having thick socks on, my toes were numb with cold. My pants felt tight from the layer of long johns underneath. I could see my breath as I huffed. See the snow topped trees surrounding the field...Then I looked down at my steps to help keep the wind from stinging my eyes.
My arms swung with my steps...."crunch, crunch, crunch"...I could feel the icey sting of the wind as it whipped my face. It picked up snow flakes with each gust and they felt like frozen sand, stinging my cheeks as I pushed on. I could hear it whistling along side the crunching of my steps, and my breathing.
It must've been mid day, as the sky was a gray white. The snow made everything look brighter than it should've been.
I just kept walking through the snow covered field, following the flattened snowy path. There was no one with me, and I didn't know my destination. It felt like I was supposed to be doing this though...like I was headed somewhere important, to me. Headed toward the darkened cover of the woods on the opposite side...I was closing in...
Searing pain shot out from my left lower back, making me wake with a yelp and a whimper....
